Hyderabad Based eCommerce Startup 'IncNut Digital' Raises $4 Million In Series A Funding


eCommerce startup IncNut Digital has raised $4 million in its Series A round. The funding round was led by early-stage consumer-centric venture capital fund, RPSG Ventures.

Founded by Chaitanya Nallan, Veerendra Shivhare, and Sangram Simha in 2011, IncNut Digital is a Hyderabad-based eCommerce startup that owns and operates two women-centric digital media platforms – Stylecraze and Momjunction.com.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) sets up centre for startups in Telangana


Industry association Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Saturday said it has set up a centre in Telangana to help startups to connect with large business houses and corporates. CII Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Startups will also focus on deep-tech startups in the manufacturing sector to help create unicorns.

CII Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Startups is supported by the Telangana government by way of space at T-Hub technology startup incubator in the city, and Pratiksha, a charitable trust founded by Gopalakrishnan.

Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao, who launched the Centre, said, the facility will provide the right mix of entrepreneurial elements mentorship, access to capital and safety net for experimentation that will strengthen the startup ecosystem in not just Telangana, but across India.

T-Hub partners IT Ministry to mentor hardware startups in India - Sentinelassam


Hyderabad-based global start-up catalyst T-Hub on Friday announced a partnership with the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) to lead Digital India's Scale Up programme for hardware and Internet of Things (#IoT) startups across India. As many as 10-15 startups with leading-edge solutions in #mobility, #energy, #agriculture, #aerospace, manufacturing, consumer, #healthtech, #medtech, smart cities and #logistics and #supplychain sectors will be shortlisted as part of the programme, T-Hub said in a statement.

The call for application for the programme will commence in July. Startups will be shortlisted from hundreds of applications after an extensive screening process, T-Hub added.

As part of the programme, the shortlisted startups will also receive equity-free grants, T-Hub said. "It is important for us to engage the startup community and bring innovative thinking into product development that can accelerate the creation of new offerings in the hardware space," said Ajai Garg, CEO of MeitY Startup Hub.

IIT Hyderabad Collaborates With NVIDIA To Establish AI Research Centre


On Thursday, NVIDIA in association with Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad unveiled a technology centre — NVIDIA AI Technology Centre (NVAITC) — to accelerate research and commercial adoption in artificial intelligence. Although the research centre can be used for a wide range of AI research, it will primarily focus on advancing technologies in agriculture, smart cities, and language understanding.

“As an #IIT with a strong fundamental and technological research focus, the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad is very happy to join NVIDIA’s NVAITC program. This combination of NVIDIA’s leading-edge technology for #AI Compute and some of the finest minds in the country from #IIT Hyderabad will bring synergy to help find solutions to uniquely Indian challenges, be it enhancing crop yield or safer cities. This will build on the strong AI capabilities IIT Hyderabad has built, including the country’s first B.Tech in #AI program,” said Prof. B.S. Murty, IIT Hyderabad Director.

Hyderabad-based healthtech startup arvi has reinvented itself and developed #AI thermal kiosks for COVID-19 screening

Founded in July 2019 by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay alumni Sushant Reddy and his friend Avinash Lavangal, the startup initially came up with a platform to help senior citizens with its smart medical alert system. It enabled senior citizens to access emergency and non-emergency medical assistance at their doorstep at the push of a button.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic has provided a new opportunity for the startup. It has developed an unmanned contactless thermal scanning kiosk using AI technology with deep learning to combine facial recognition and thermal screening. It can detect people with high temperatures as well as those violating requirements to wear masks.

Startup Funding Alert: Unicorn India Ventures strikes second deal from Fund II, backs Hyderabad based fintech ChitMonks


Hyderabad-based Pangean Global Services Pvt Ltd Services, which owns and operates fintech platform ChitMonks, has raised $650,000 in its first institutional funding round from venture capital firm Unicorn India Ventures.

“Chit fund, as an asset class, is very close to millions of people across the country. At a time (especially after Covid-19), where digitisation is essential, we are building an inclusive ecosystem for chit fund companies to think beyond digitisation,” Pavan Adipuram, co-founder and CEO of ChitMonks, told TechCircle.

Pavan Adipuram set up ChitMonks in 2016 with Malla Reddy and Sridhar Reddy. The startup brings together chit fund companies, regulators, subscribers, banks, ecosystem enablers and service providers.

Funding Alert: o9 Solutions startup raises an amount of $100 million from KKR, valuing it over $1 billion

Integrated business planning software startup o9 Solutions, Inc. recently stated that it has raised an amount of $100 million (around Rs 761 crore) from global investment firm KKR. KKR has chose a minority stake in o9 Solutions, valuing it over $1 billion.

The #startup aims to hire India-based talent in emerging technologies like #artificialintelligence#machinelearning and other key technologies in the digital transformation space as well as expand its customer base in Asia.

o9 was put to use by Sanjiv Sidhu and Chakri Gottemukkala, both Indian Americans from Hyderabad.

Furthermore o9 has upto 500 employees globally, of which more than 350 are based in India. Its clients in India include different divisions of Aditya Birla group, Tata Group, and leading paint firms.
