Startup Mergers & Acquisitions: SaaS Unicorn Freshworks Acquires Pune Based Cloud Platform 'Flint'


#SaaS #unicorn Freshworks has acquired Pune-based cloud platform Flint for an undisclosed amount.

Founded by Ankur Gakkhar and Abhishek Pande in 2013, Flint offers an enterprise-grade IT operations system and an intuitively designed dashboard.

Founded by Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy in 2010, Freshworks (previously called Freshdesk) has more than 150K clients across the world and is now looking for an IPO.

Startup Funding Alert: Goldman Sachs leads LeanIX's $80M Series D funding


A German startup LeanIX that is helping brands like adidas, Dropbox and DHL become become cloud-native has pulled in $80 million in a Series D round led by Goldman Sachs. LeanIX is based in Bonn, Germany with offices in Boston (which serves as its U.S. headquarters), the Netherlands and India. The company has over 230 employees on its payroll worldwide.

Founded in 2012 by André Christ and Jörg Beyer, LeanIX is an enterprise software startup that helps companies adapt to cloud computing. As Christ puts it, “LeanIX is like Google Maps for a company’s IT landscape.” With LeanIX’s cloud native suite, clients can automatically discover used cloud services across major platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure ™ or Google Cloud and capture data about microservices.

Venture Capital: Facebook co-founder's B Capital Group closes its second fund at $820M


B Capital Group, a US and Singapore-based investment company have announced the closing of its second $820 million venture fund to invest in growth-stage startups that are disrupting large industries and quickly scaling up.

Founded in 2014 by Raj Ganguly, and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, B Capital Group invests in #enterprise technology (including #SaaS, #AI / #ML infrastructure, and security), #fintech, #healthcare #technology, customer supporting technology, #transport, and #logistics into #B2B and #B2B2C businesses. The company usually invests between $10 and $60 million in Series B, C, and D businesses poised to grow rapidly.

Indian Government launches PM FME scheme to help micro food processing enterprises


The Indian government on Monday launched a Rs 10,000 crore scheme for micro enterprises which offers 50% subsidy for storage and transportation to prevent distress sale by farmers.

The scheme, called Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Enterprises (PM FME), aims to bring in new technology, apart from affordable credit to help small entrepreneurs penetrate new markets.

The scheme will be implemented for five years until 2024-25. It will generate investment of Rs 35,000 core, generate 900,000 jobs and help 800,000 units.

Under the PM FME scheme, micro enterprises will get 35% subsidy on project cost, with a ceiling of Rs 10 lakh. The beneficiaries will have to contribute at least 10% of the project cost while the balance will come from loans. Nearly 200,000 micro enterprises will get credit-linked subsidy support.

Startup News: Edtech startup Bada Business aims to train 10M entrepreneurs in 6 months


Education technology startup Bada Business on Friday said it aims to train 10 million entrepreneurs over the next six months as part of its 'India Revival Mission' for micro, small, and medium enterprises.

Addressing a virtual press conference, Bada Business founder and CEO Vivek Bindra also said it plans to double its presence to 150 offices in the country by the year-end, from 75 offices at present.

The 'India Revival Mission' offers hand-holding solutions to MSMEs and skill training for digital transformation to lakhs of such businesses.
