Startup Mergers & Acquisitions: Affle To Acquire 8 Stake In Indigenous App Store Indus OS For Rs 21 Cr


Mobile advertising organization Affle on Thursday said it will procure an eight per cent stake in cell phone working framework firm Indus OS.

Indus OS works India's biggest free indigenous application store, with key speculation from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation. As indicated by an administrative recording, Affle will pay $2.86 million or about Rs 21 crore, to Indus OS for the stake.

Indus OS has'Indus App Bazaar', which contains more than four lakh applications open in English and 12 Indian dialects — Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Odia, Punjabi, Malayalam, Bengali, Assamese and Kannada.

Google Pay not a payment system operator: RBI to Delhi High Court


In an ongoing PIL, RBI has also told the Delhi High Court that since Google Pay does not operate any payment system, it does not find a place in the list of authorised payment system operators published by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

The bench said the matter requires detailed hearing as it affects other third party apps and listed it on July 22.

All FinTech startups using user consent to make payments in their payment apps should be careful and make it clear on their websites that they are not a payment register operator approved under NPCI and they are only user consent based payment solution provider.

Now the question is whether such services also come under the purview of NPCI?

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has told the Delhi High Court that Google Pay is a third party app provider (TPAP) and does not operate any payment systems. Barcelona-based Onna nabs €24 million to scale world's first Knowledge Integration Platform (KIP)

Barcelona and New York-based startup Onna , one of the world’s first Knowledge Integration Platforms (KIP), today announced an approximate €24 million Series B investment. This latest investment round, led by Atomico with participation from Glynn Capital, will be used to grow Onna ‘s engineering, product and partnerships teams to further develop its ecosystem of integrations and applications.

Onna , founded in 2015, integrates all workplace knowledge-based apps together, from communication to storage and HR platforms, allowing companies large and small to unify, search, protect, automate and build on top of their proprietary knowledge in a way not previously possible.

Knowledge-based apps are those that go beyond raw data and focus on contextual human input such as emails, chat, documents, images, contracts, employee performance information, customer feedback, drawn from sources such as G Suite, Slack, Salesforce, Dropbox, Confluence, Zendesk and Workplace among others. Companies today use an average of 88 different apps to power their workforce, a 21% increase from just three years ago.
