Hyderabad-based global start-up catalyst T-Hub on Friday announced a partnership with the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) to lead Digital India's Scale Up programme for hardware and Internet of Things (#IoT) startups across India. As many as 10-15 startups with leading-edge solutions in #mobility, #energy, #agriculture, #aerospace, manufacturing, consumer, #healthtech, #medtech, smart cities and #logistics and #supplychain sectors will be shortlisted as part of the programme, T-Hub said in a statement.

The call for application for the programme will commence in July. Startups will be shortlisted from hundreds of applications after an extensive screening process, T-Hub added.

As part of the programme, the shortlisted startups will also receive equity-free grants, T-Hub said. "It is important for us to engage the startup community and bring innovative thinking into product development that can accelerate the creation of new offerings in the hardware space," said Ajai Garg, CEO of MeitY Startup Hub.

The app lets you take control of your goals by tracking calories and steps, breakdown ingredients, log activities, check BMI, and weight. It helps in checking the heart rate, respiration rate, oxygen levels, and blood pressure through smartphone with the help of a sensor device.

sense.bio works on a freemium model, the premium version of which will give people access to personalized and customized diet recommendations and allows you to interact with nutritionists and health coaches. The app is available on the play store and soon to be launched on the iOS store as well.

MicroGO, a Chennai-based biotech startup, has seen a rise in installations of its #IoT (Internet of Things) enabled hand hygiene device during the coronavirus pandemic. Founder Rachna Dave claims that it has installed around 180 units of its GOassure device since March 2, 2020, across various cities.

First installed at the Chennai airport, the GOassure was later added at other Airport Authority of India controlled airports in Baroda, Calicut, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Pune, and Kolkata, among others. The devices have also been installed at various enterprises like Taj Group, BigBasket, Tata Capital, etc.

Apart from GOassure, which is in heavy demand during COVID-19, MicroGO also manufactures devices like GOsteri, which can be used for sterilisation of surgical instruments and requires no water and electricity. It has also developed GOclean which is a disinfectant spray for surface disinfection and GOpure, for disinfection of domestic and sewage water. The startup also has its patented technology platform, Tubelet, which uses chlorine dioxide without contaminating the treated water with any chemical residues. Since its launch, MicroGO has filed seven patents and eight trademarks.

IT industry body NASSCOM on Friday announced the fourth batch of its 'DeepTech Club,' under which 17 startups have been chosen for four-month-long guidance, enterprise connect sessions, and exposure to investors, and the global startup ecosystem, according to a statement.

Technologies such as artificial intelligence (#AI), internet of things (#IoT), #blockchain, machine learning (#ML), and virtual reality (#VR) are leading the startup space, and attracting interest and activity, NASSCOM noted. The fourth batch includes startups working in areas like AI, natural language processing (#NLP), immersive technologies, IoT, #computervision, and #quantumcomputing, the statement said.

Some of the startups chosen are Devnagri, Exxar, and Stylumia Intelligence Technology.

Delhi-based deeptech startup AIGROEDGE Technologies, co-founderd by Mayank Rajput, ABHAI TIWARI, and Akshay Taneja, has built a proprietary #IoT sensor that monitors agricultural lands in real-time and improves crop visibility for farmers.

AIGROEDGE has built a proprietary intelligent farming kit, which includes an Internet of Things (IoT) based sensory device known as ‘KRAASHAK’ and a #SaaS-based analytics platform called AgriVitals.

The Delhi-based startup measures soil parameters (temperature, moisture, conductivity, pH level, moisture absorbance rate); environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, light intensity, CO2 level, and weather data from external stations); and geographic parameters in real-time by deploying multiple sensor nodes across agricultural fields. Typically, one acre of land requires five sensors to capture adequate data.

AIGROEDGE operates on a B2B model; its customers include farms and agritech firms, genetic and plant breeding companies, and government and farm finance providers.

Counterfeiting is a massive economic problem that results in billions of dollars in lost business revenues each year, and it exposes corporations to fraudulent materials and defective parts.

Within the global pharma space, between $75 billion and $200 billion in counterfeit drugs are sold each year. In the electronics industry, fake parts cost component manufacturers about $100 billion annually. And in the European luxury goods market, about 10% of all items for sale are counterfeited, representing approximately $28 billion in lost value.

IoT provides unique identification and traceability, and blockchain provides a tamperproof chain of custody information. Pairing them can create a shared, distributed ledger capable of recording the origin, location, and ownership of raw materials and products at each stage of the value chain—giving manufacturers, partners, and customers the transparency and authentication they need. Blockchain with IoT, because of its ability to immutably track and share genealogy across multiple stakeholders, can inhibit counterfeiting in ways that traditional technologies cannot.

Stride Ventures has invested an undisclosed amount in portfolio company Stellapps Technologies Private Limited Technologies, an Internet of Things (IoT) firm operating in the dairy supply chain.

Founded in 2011, Stellapps is a farm to consumer dairy digitisation service provider. It leverages analytics and artificial intelligence through its full-stack IoT platform to enable dairy ecosystem partnerships with financial and insurance institutions, veterinary services, cattle nutrition providers, etc., to drive significant value for each stakeholder, including small farmers.

Through its customer-base, which includes all major private and co-operative dairies, Stellapps currently digitises about 10 million litres of milk worth $3.4 million every day, and directly impacts two million dairy farmers in over 28,000 Indian villages.
