Startup Tools: AngelList Launches Cap Table Management Platform For Indian Startups, EquityList
AngelList, a US-based curated closed marketplace for startups and investors, has launched a cap table management product for India — EquityList. In addition to enabling cap table management, this free product will also help startups create stock option programs and issue grants.
As companies grow and multiple investors join the company’s board, cap tables tend to become complex and managing them on spreadsheets makes them prone to errors. EquityList aims to automate this process for Indian startups and reduce inefficiencies.
Earlier this year, the Bengaluru-based deal-making platform LetsVenture also launched an ESOPs management tool called MyStartupEquity. Speaking about the existing ESOPs management tool in the market like MyStartupEquity, Sumukh Sridhara CEO of EquityList agreed that there is a growing market for such tools in India as more companies adopt ESOPs and employees begin to expect them.

Tucson Tech: UA-invented device delivers COVID-19 results in minutes
Soon patients could be quickly and cheaply tested for the virus that causes COVID-19 with a device invented by University of Arizona optical scientists. The portable pathogen detection system, developed by Botanisol Analytics, uses a laser with sensors that can instantly analyze the chemical makeup of a virus test sample.
Botanisol’s device, called a Raman vacuum ultraviolet spectrometer, is based on technology invented nearly a decade ago by UA professor Tom Milster of the James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences, along with co-inventors Pramod Khulbe and Barry Gelernt. Raman spectrometers, which identify substances by detecting the vibrational modes of molecules, are widely used in industrial and biomedical applications.
The spectrometer plugs into a standard wall outlet, requires minimal training to operate and it doesn’t need chemical reagents to create reactions for diagnostics — unlike like the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests commonly used to detect COVID-19.
The current version Botanisol has developed can deliver results in 2 to 10 minutes, and a next-generation system will be even faster, said Talenfield, a Mesa native who got a law degree and an MBA from the UA in 2010.
The technique can be 18 times faster and 110 times cheaper than current PCR tests, the company says.

Wireless drone chargers startup WiBotic raises $5.7 million
Wireless drone charging solutions provider WiBotic announced it has raised $5.7 million, which it will use to expand its product offerings and enhance customer support. CEO Ben Waters says the plan is to grow WiBotic’s sales team over the next few months as the company advances various internal hardware and software engineering efforts.
WiBotic’s kits consist of four components: a transmitter, an antenna coil, an onboard charger unit, and a receiver antenna coil. The transmitter uses any available power to generate a high-frequency wireless signal, which travels through a coaxial cable to the antenna coil, where it produces electrical and magnetic waves. When a drone comes within range, the transmitter recognizes its charger unit and receiver coil and automatically ramps up to deliver the right amount of energy — through air, water, or other non-conductive materials.
WiBotic’s wireless charging systems have attracted companies in warehousing, logistics, hospitality and service, security, energy, and defense. Regardless of sector, the systems can be placed throughout worksites to allow fleets of drones to land and charge quickly. They can be embedded into drone garages or hangars, and they’re resistant to dirt, water, and corrosive materials. On the power optimization side, they support fleet-wide battery status monitoring and smart charging routines, eliminating the need for human monitoring.
